Barrack Obama Bio

While it may true that Barrack Obama won a landslide victory in the Presidential race, the 2008 Presidential election represents a historic victory. It embodies the vision of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision of an 'equal land of opportunity."

U.S. Presidential Election 2008 - A Victory in Itself

The victory of the Obama campaign is a victory in itself, although much of the nation believes that the U.S. is in a state of mess, both economically and in terms of foreign policy. But before passing a judgement on this historical young President Elect, it may be wise to reflect on the achievement itself from the perspective of an earlier time in history, when people spoke of similar ideas.

It is also wise to note at this time that several African American activists, including the Rev. Jesse Jackson, had offered themselves as candidates for top offices in the country, and lost because they were representing their minority views.

Concerns and Issues of the American People Represented

In the case of Senator Obama, he brings to front and center the agenda of a large group of Americans - genuinely concerned about where the country is heading. Is it possible that the Bush administration was not aware that the credit crunch would not happen? Worse yet, did President Bush not account for the massive losses in Iraq both in terms of casualties and finances when he factored out an equation to fight terrorism from within.
